The Republican party did alright.  They saw enormous gains, wiping away Democrats  in Republican leaning districts, reaching deeply into state legislatures and governorships, and adding new blood like Kelly Ayotte, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio, Ron Johnson, and Mike Lee, without having to deal with Senators named Miller, O’Donnell, and McMahon.

The Republicans got to claim the Tea Party mantle, without having to deal with real challenges to the Establishment authority.  Most important, they learned not to be afraid of us.

We were convenient shock troops against ACORN and SEIU and the unions, all of which had terrorized Republican politicians over the years.  With the rise of the Tea Party, the blue bloods had their rabble to throw into the media grapeshot.
