…A Muslim Army officer crying “Allah Akbar” while shooting up an army base and killing 13 soldiers is considered to have committed “Workplace Violence” while an American citizen boasting a Ron Paul bumper sticker is classified as a “Domestic Terrorist”.

….You can get arrested for expired tags on your car but not for being in the country illegally.

….Your government believes that the best way to eradicate trillions of dollars of debt is to spend trillions more of our money.

….A seven year old boy can be thrown out of school for calling his teacher “cute” but hosting a sexual exploration or diversity class in grade school is perfectly acceptable.

….The Supreme Court of the United States can rule that lower courts cannot display the 10 Commandments in their courtroom, while sitting in front of a display of the 10 Commandments.

….Children are forcibly removed from parents who appropriately discipline them while children of “underprivileged” drug addicts are left to rot in filth infested cesspools.

….Working class Americans pay for their own health care (and the health care of everyone else) while unmarried women are free to have child after child on the “State’s” dime ($six figures) while never being held responsible for their own choices (incentive to breed built into system).

….Hard work and success are rewarded with higher taxes and government intrusion, while slothful, lazy behavior is rewarded with EBT cards, WIC checks, Medicaid and subsidized housing, and free cell phones.

….The government’s plan for getting people back to work is to provide 99 weeks of unemployment checks (to not work).

….Being self-sufficient is considered a threat to the government.

….Politicians think that stripping away the amendments to the constitution is really protecting the rights of the people.

….The rights of the Government come before the rights of the individual.

….Parents believe the State is responsible for providing for their children.

….You pay your mortgage faithfully, denying yourself the newest big screen TV while your neighbor defaults on his mortgage (while buying iPhones, TV’s and new cars) and the government forgives his debt and reduces his mortgage (with your tax dollars).

….Your government can add anything they want to your kid’s water (fluoride, chlorine, etc.) but you are not allowed to give them raw milk.

….Being stripped of the ability to defend yourself makes you “safe”.

….You have to have your parents signature to go on a school field trip but not to get an abortion.

….An 80 year old woman can be strip searched by the TSA but a Muslim woman in a burka is only subject to having her neck and head searched.

Fiscal Cliff: Let’s Make A Deal

The solution to the problems in America’s economy, finances, debt, and obligations is certainly NOT for the Federal Government to have more money and control — as if, under Barack Obama’s claim, you just hive him another $100 Billion more per year, all our problems will be solved.

Under Clinton, yes, taxes were higher, but spending was 18% of GDP instead of the current 25% of GDP. THAT is why the budget was (closed to being) balanced… …along with the whole of the Congress and President knowing that Newt Gingrich was willing to take the Nuclear Option and shut down the Federal Government.

So, to solve our problems, a true leader, a true conservative/libertarian would introduce legislation and vote to reduce the amount of money taken out of the economy by the Federal Government and reduce the amount of our labors the Federal Government spends.

It’s simple common sense… …that is so uncommon these days.

So, why would any Republican, the party of Fiscal Responsibility, bring legislation to the floor and vote to increase taxes and spending?

There is only one answer:

They care more about their future as a legislator than they do about what’s best for America.

So, when they vote to increase your taxes and increase the money going to the government and increase spending (while calling it deficit reduction), you know that that person is not working for you and the betterment of America.  They are callously voting to ensure their own future is bright at the expense of yours.

Maybe you ought to vote ‘no’ this time when they tell you they are the true conservative/libertarian but their votes show they are not.

Help Needed In Cape Area ‘Toys For Tots’ Effort

From the Marine Corps League:

I am going to need a considerable amount of help in the next 10 days.  Toy request forms are coming in from the Div. of Social Services offices, and the need is great. I found out this past week that at least 2 of the 4 county Social Services offices will not help with distribution of toys due to staff/budget cutbacks.  I have lined up alternative distribution sites, but we will need to contact the families by telephone of where and when to pick up toys.

Here is what I need:

1. Volunteers to call parents in Scott and Stoddard counties to inform them of the location, date, time and ID # needed to pick up their toys.  I particularly need volunteers who would be willing to use their cell phones (if they have an unlimited minutes calling plan) so they can call from the Armory.  I can use anyone and everyone who wants to volunteer to do this – Det members, Aux, or any other willing people. We need to notify about 510 families in those two counties !
2. I need 2 or 3 Detachment members/Aux members to be at the two distribution sites (Sikeston & Dexter) from approx. 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on December 20th.  Contact me if you can do this and I will supply you with the details.
3. I need a location in the Marble Hill area that we can use to distribute toys – there is a strong possibility that Bollinger County Social Services will not be able to help us.  If you know of a place, give the contact name & number so I can follow up.
4. As indicated earlier, we are in the Armory now and ready to begin filling toy requests very soon.  Jimmie W. has the key and hours there are generally 9 – 4 and 6 to 9  or so.  Before showing up, call to be sure someone is there.  We are still collecting toys this week and we have the Schnucks event at the end of the week.
5. Speaking of Schnucks, there are some gaps in our coverage there.  Here is what I have from the sign-up sheet for this event:
   • Thursday, Dec. 13th
     • 4:00 to 6:00 pm David L. and Mike R.
     •  6:00 to 8:00 pm Jimmie W. and Paul B.
     •  8:00 to 10:00 pm Jim W.
     • 10:00 to 12:00 Ron M.
     • 12:00 to 6:00 am Ron M. & Ralph C.
   • Friday, Dec. 13th
     • 6:00 am to 10:00 Jimmie W.
     • 10:00 am to 12:00
     • 12:00 pm to 3:00
     • 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm
6. We are filling the toy requests in this order:  1.Cape County,  2. Stoddard County, 3.Bollinger County, 4. Scott County.  I currently have 600 applications for 1358 children.

Employment v Unemployment – November 2012

With another 350,000 leaving the work force, the useless figure called the unemployment rate ticked down again in November 2012 to 7.7%.  Previous months, however, were also revised downward, and we can expect the same for the current month.  Problems?

For instance, labor force participation fell sharply. Indeed, the sole reason for a decline in the unemployment rate was a drop of 350,000 in the number of people in the labor force.

So, why even pay attention to the Unemployment Rate.  There is only one graph that really matters and shows a much more true picture of the Employment situation in the U.S. — The Labor Force Participation Rate:

Compliments of the Obama Stimulus, Auto Bailout, Recovery Summer, TARP, Cash For Clunkers, EPA, High Gas Prices and every other constraint the Obama Administration has put on our economy, the Labor Force Participation rate has fallen off the cliff and continues to decline:

Obama’s Labor Force Participation Rate is the lowest since Jimmy Carter’s 63% rates — another complete failure as a jobs president.

Yes, I would gladly go back to the Clinton Era 67% Employment Rates, 18% of GDP Spending Rates, and his reduction to 15% in the Capital Gains Tax Rate… …and if we didn’t increase to Clinton’s 39% Income Tax Rate, his figures would be even better!

TTTT Takeaway Activism and Notes – November 2012

Speaker Notes:

Our speaker this month was Mark Herr from the Mid-South Tea Party and the Tennessee Center for Self Governance.  While we were expecting a discussion on Nullification, we were blessed with an exhilarating discussion of a plan and program that will allow CCTP members to go beyond Civil Responsibility and Activism.  The program guides the trainee to a level of Civil Authority that was instilled in our countries founding intended to be employed by an active and involved electorate.

Here’s Mark Herr’s info / bio:

Our speaker has helped organize the Mid-South Tea Party into a productive and effective team-based structure based upon the strengths and passions of members. Working with local, state, and federal teams, the Mid-South Tea Party was critical in defeating an Animal Control Ordinance, lowering the property tax, opposing Agenda 21, and much more. He has been critical in coordinating a state-wide Tea Party alliance, bringing together Tea Party groups in Tennessee on a quarterly basis.

Currently, he is working to build relationships with Tea Parties & Liberty Groups throughout Tennessee and help them build relationships with legislators to enable & enact a Tea Party Legislative Agenda…he is working to get the Health Care Compact (and soon the Education, Energy, and Banking Compacts) passed in TN…he is also working to abolish so-called ‘Sustainable Development’ in his county

…and he is an amateur radio host of The Mid-South Tea Party Radio Show.

He does all of this because he believes the Tea Party is the last barrier to overreaching Federal Government, the therapist for under-reaching State Government, and the educator of the General Public who must ultimately “restore Government Of the People, By the People, and For the People.”

And finally, as an avid golfer who gave up the sport to work to save his country, he hopes someday to golf again…as much as the President does.

Takeaway Activism:

There was no specific Takeaway Activism this month because we completed the task at the end of the meeting.

The CCTP held an ACLU Christmas Card Party!!  We joined in completing and sending 104 Christmas Cards to the ACLU’s Membership Department wishing them — not Seasons Greetings — not Happy Holidays — but MERRY CHRISTMAS!

A Letter To The Editor by David Larson:

Imagine this.

You are working for a company that has run into hard times financially. You are told, “In two weeks you will be laid off or you can accept another position within the company at a lower rate of pay.”

You decide to remain employed because the lower pay rate is more than what you would receive from Unemployment. However, the new wage is not enough to cover the budget you planned for over the next year. In most cases you sit down with your family going through the budget concentrating on your needs of food and shelter, and striking those nice to have items.

Would you ever consider asking for an increase in compensation because “technically it would be recouping what you had before?”

I think not. I believe you would be happy with a job that permits you to provide for your family.

Mr. Cape Girardeau County Presiding Commissioner, where is your authority to “recoup any loss use tax revenue” without the consent of the people?

Why did the County Commission vote in favor of a Tax Abatement for Spartech on December 6th?

Why cannot the County do the same as the aforementioned family?

Mr. State Senate – elect Wallingford, everyone (including government) needs to share in the sacrifice of less money in these poor economic times.

All elected officials must remember, “The God-given right to govern is vested in the sovereign authority of the whole people.” Seek their permission before passing legislation that affects their property.
